The Spirit of Saint Nicholas Lives on in Today’s Youth |
|
The religion students from St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Parish in Buffalo, New York decided to do something special this Christmas season, by taking a more active role in their faith. The oldest group of religion students spend several hours of their time making ‘no sew’ fleece blankets for ailing children at the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. They wanted to make a difference in their community by provided some much needed comfort and warmth to children their own age, who were not healthy enough to leave the hospital for Christmas. Along with their catechist teachers, these young and promising adults within the parish went to visit the hospital in downtown Buffalo; right after Ridna Shkola celebrated their ‘Breakfast with St. Nicholas’. Keeping with the spirit and tradition of their Parish’s Patron Saint, these young people donated more than a dozen fleece blankets as Christmas gifts to the children in the hospital. |
