Creating Assets, Savings & Hope (CASH) Buffalo - the primary goal is to increase the stability of low-to-moderate income families by increasing access to tax credits and income supports; improving financial literacy, and providing opportunities for affordable housing and other asset development.
CASH currently operates a free tax preparation program at 12-14 sites each year and facilitates access to the Self-Sufficiency Calculator, a web-based tool that enables working families to determine their eligibility for nineteen income supports. CASH members are also working to improve the coordination and consistency of financial education programming and seeking to increase the availability of various asset building opportunities including Individual Development Accounts (IDAS) and microenterprise.
